Happy Birthday, Debbie!

Today is my big sister's birthday - Happy Birthday, Debbie!  I hope you have a wonderful, wonderful day filled with fun, love, family, and friends.

Here is the card I made for Debbie.   I cased this card here by Chat Wszelaki.  Her card was a masculine birthday card, but I changed it up to make it fun and happy - like Debbie!  I think she really likes this DSP, so I decided to use it to draw my colors.  I colored in the images and added the matching brads.  I think it is a fun card with a lot going on - I hope she likes it since it is totally different from her style!  haaaa

Anyway, again, Happy Birthday, Debbie!

Everyone, thanks for looking and have a great day!

Birthday Card for Dad

I'm really behind in posting this, but here it is anyway ;)  My father's birthday was last month.  I loved this card by Carrie Gaskin.  I decided to CASE it for my Dad.  Here's my version:

I used the Well Worn DSP since it has nice, masculine colors.  I took those colors to make the candles.  I should have jazzed up the candles to make them "sparkle" a little, but forgot :(  Anyway, I love the idea of making the flame using the bird's wing from one of the SU! punches - how easy and clever!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

May Design Challenge Cards

I know next weekend is going to be super busy, so I decided I'd better post Michelle's and my cards now!  Here is the sketch and color challenge:

Michelle had the good idea to feature the SU! In-Colors that are retiring at the end of the month.  I know I'm going to miss these colors.  I really liked them!

Firs up is Michelle's adorable Birthday card.  I love the cute DSP she used to set the tone for this card.  The coloring on the images is right on with the colors she used in this card.  I also love that she featured a tag in the middle with the sentiment - very clever and cute!  The gem brad and ribbon just add that extra touch that Michelle always does so well :)  Check out her other creations here.

Next up is my card.  I had a hard time with this one.  I wanted to use a different stamp set, but then realized I had to use the In Colors.  So, I went to my favorite DSPs and everything started to evolve from there.  My husband's aunt has a birthday coming up and my mother-in-law (her sister) loves to call her the "princess".  I thought she deserved a "royal" card ;)  I haven't had a chance to even use my new stamps from February, so pulled them out and started stamping.  I had a hard time with the sentiment in the middle.  I think I stamped it like 10 times; different inks on different DSP.  I finally decided on this combo.  I was going to use brads on the corners of the main image, but I have a hard time not using ribbon on a card and liked the look of the ribbon best.

So, there we have it!  I can't believe we are already at the end of May.  Soon we'll be posting June's challenge :)  Thank you all for looking and have a wonderful day!

Kelsey's Birthday Card

Here is the second card I CASEd for an April birthday card.  My younger niece turned 13 and I just loved this card (by Michelle Surette) to help celebrate the occasion.

I decided to use more of the Big Top Designer Paper because it is so colorful and happy.  I used a small flower punch I had for the tops of the hats and added a little bling.  I made a matching envelope and added another hat inside the card.  I love how it turned out and I think it is much livelier in person.  I sure hope she enjoyed it :)

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

May Challenge Cards by Regina

All I can say is "Wow!"  Regina joined our May challenge (yay!) and already submitted her creations.  She made two cards for the challenge and I don't know which one I like more.  They are just slightly different with the designer paper, but it does set a slightly different tone to the card.  I think I like the first card slightly better.  But, I love them both.  This is a perfect all occasion card!  Check out more of Regina's creations here.  Thanks for creating with us, Regina!

Thank you for looking and have a great day!

First of the BDay Cards

I did a lot of CASEing cards this year!  I found this adorable lion card here (by Patti Corriere) and had to CASE it.  I changed the paper and added buttons, but loved how it turned out.  I wish I had the talent to see the possibilities in punches!

This card is still up in the house and I can't put it away yet, even though it's almost been a month that it's been up!  I just think it is so cute and fun.

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful day and weekend!

More Quilt Cards!

I was so happy to receive a comment from my friend Regina yesterday. She also joined our quilt card challenge and made two (not one, but two!) quilt cards. Check them out below. Aren't they amazing? I was blown away. Quilting is definitely an art; picking the right colors, designs, placement, etc. I just have to throw in the towel on quilting for myself, but Regina definitely has the talent for it! I love these two cards, especially the first one. Please check out Regina's crafty work here.

Regina, thanks for joining us and please join us again in the coming months!  We love your work!!!

Regina, vielen dank für den Einstieg bei uns und unterstützen sie uns bitte in den kommenden Monaten wieder! Wir lieben deine Arbeit! !!

Everyone, thanks for looking and have a great day!
