Here comes Peter Cottontail...

Easter is really sneaking up on me this year! I quickly put these little envelopes together to send to my nieces and nephew. I need to pop them in the mail today! I can't believe Sunday is Easter. Is it me or is this year flying by????

I got this stamp cube from Inky Antics. I colored them in with Copics. I really loved the Egg Kit from SU! this year. It was such a great deal and has so many great items in it. I didn't even use it for decorating Easter eggs! I used the different paper strips from the pack to frame the images and then used some of the flowers to decorate the girls' envelopes. I used some certainly celery ribbon for my nephew's.

Thanks for looking and Happy Easter to all!

TGIF!!!!

Happy Friday to everyone! I was able to do this weekend's challenge a little early since it looks like a packed weekend and may not get to stamp :( So, I used this week's colour Q color challenge and Just Add Ink #19 sketch challenge.

I love this little dog set (D is for Dog). I haven't had a chance to use it yet, so I broke into it and created this. I need to break it in because the first stamp wasn't crisp enough for me. I went back behind it and colored it in with my marker.

I have a lot of dog friends, so I know I'll put this card to good use. Have a great weekend!!!

A Great Color Challenge

Well, I had this whole long thing typed out about this color challenge and somehow managed to lose it! I'm way too tired to do it again.
I think these colors are beautiful together. I used the Stamping 411 Color Challenge you can find here.

Thanks for looking!

Beautiful Sketches

I really like Gretchen Barron's Inspiration in Action sketches. Check them out here.

I was finally able to get some stamping done tonight, and used this sketch. I also loved the colors from the Stampin' Royalty Challenge #8 (Green Galore, Summer Sun, Only Orange, and Pixie Pink), so incorporated both challenges into this card. I think it makes a cute girl's birthday card. I think my older niece will be getting this one!

I used the Birthday Bliss stamp set. It's such a great set! I find myself reaching for it a lot lately.

Thanks for looking and have a good rest of the week!

Weekend Challenges Done!

I can't believe another weekend is almost done - pooey! But, I was able to get this weekend's color and sketch challenges done - yay!

For the Sketch Challenge, we used Our Creative Corner's sketch 132. Isn't it a great sketch? I loved it and will definitely use it again. I used the Sending Love DSP and Bitty Birthday set for this card. For accessories, I used the pink flower buttons from the Sherbet button set and used my favorite Cherry Blossom embosslit die. I added to the flower by punching some circles and adding a pink brad. I first tried to use a piece of vanilla satin ribbon in the middle of the card, but it just didn't look right. So, I had to careful disassemble the card and added the chocolate chip strip of cardstock instead. I really do love the layout!

For the Color Challenge, we used Diva Coffee Break Design Color Challenge #168. When I do a color challenge, I begin by pulling the cardstock of the colors. When I was looking at the colors, I didn't know what to do. I then started looking at the sets I haven't used yet. I saw the Just Surfing set and thought the colors would be perfect. Last summer, our group had a swap using kraft card stock. Sherri (Hey Girl!) made an awesome beachy-surf card. I remembered it and decided to CASE it with this challenge. I used a Whisper White base, but it looked funny as the sky. So, I sponged it with Ballet Blue to make it look more like the sky. The colors are good together, but this was a really tough one for me!

Thanks for looking and hope you have an awesome week!

Easter Fluffles

Where has the year already gone? I can't believe we are almost in the middle of March and Easter is right around the corner! So, I better make like an egg and get crackin'!

I love Fluffles. He reminds me of my male gray tabby (Kimba). Both are just adorable and lovable! I was going through my Easter stamps and saw this one. I knew I had to make a card with it. This Mojo Monday sketch (#128) was perfect for this stamp. I pulled my Razzleberry Lemonde DSP and used colors from it to color in the stamp.
Thanks for looking and Happy Thursday!

I found this Cat's Pajamas sketch challenge and loved it! I don't use ovals much, so this was a good one! Still on the birthday kick, I'm afraid! But, I like the end result. Who doesn't love cake???

Have a great day and thanks for looking.

Great color combo!

I think this past week's Curtain Call Color Challenge (Act 19) is one of the prettiest! Unfortunately, Pink Pirouette retired last year. But, I still have a lot of items with it, so was happy to see it in this combo.

I thought the sketch from Simply Sunday Sketch Challenge (#2) was a really great one. I had a hard time deciding what stamp to use, but wanted to try the beautiful peacock from the Very Thankful set. I saw someone had used the stamp with one color and it looked beautiful. So, I colored just the peacock with a marker and stamped it. I don't know if I'm crazy about it, but it was fun.

Hope you have a great week. Thanks for looking!

Stamps: Very Thankful and Three Little Words
Ink: Bashful Blue
Paper: Pink Pirouette DSP, Rich Razzleberry, Pink Pirouette, Bashful Blue, and Very Vanilla

Saturday Challenges

Every weekend, our group tries to do a color and sketch challenge. I'm lucky because I get to pick them! There are so many wonderful challenges out there, it is really hard to choose!

Our group only use current products, so we changed the Pink Pirouette to Pretty In Pink. I've made another card that I'll post tomorrow for the Pink Pirouette.

Here is my card. Again, another birthday card! I have 10 birthdays in two months' time! This one is going to my aunt in Japan. I think she'll love the little bird :)

Thanks for looking!

Stamps: Pun Fun
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Very Vanilla, Rich Razzleberry, Bashful Blue, and Pretty In Pink
Accessories: Punches

Birthday Swap

Our SU! group's monthly swap this time was to do a birthday card. I decided to try and keep it simple and use one color. I use Rose Red DSP and matching paper and the Birthday Bliss stamp. Not much to really say since it was such a simple card! But, I do like it and it'll be an easy one to mail! :)
TFL and have a great day!

Happy Girls Day!

Today is Girls Day in Japan. I've been wanting to make something for a while. I bought some cute little decorations in Asakusa a couple years ago, and made this little girl trying to imitate the one I bought. I forgot to take a picture of the one I bought, but here is my little Girls Day decoration.

I typed the wording on my laptop and printed it out on cardstock. I used the on-board scallop circle as the base. I used my little Pretty in Pink craft spot to color the chipboard. I heated it to dry. I then used my circle cutter to cut the DSP. I cut out the little flowers on my Big Shot. I used a lot of punches. I used some origami paper and washi paper I bought in Japan for the kimono and hair ribbon.

I wish all the girls of the world a very happy day today! TFL :)

Beginning of Birthdays

This weekend begins the long period of birthdays (friends and family) for me for the next couple of months! So, I've been trying to make a lot of birthday cards so I would be ready to send to each and every one :)

I love this little penguin and think my friend Valerie will too. I always laugh that age is just a number and I think she'll get a kick out of the sentiment too.

I used the Mojo Monday 100 (Day 1) sketch for the layout.

Thanks for looking and have a great day!
